Phase 2 of the construction of the Melton Bypass will shortly commence, and the A606 between Melton and Burton Lazars will be closed from Monday 1 July to Sunday 25 August 2024. Therefore the R1 bus service will have to be diverted at Whissendine and will travel along Stapleford Road and onto the B676 Saxby Road into Melton and back out the same way.
The R1 will travel down to MV16 for 0834 and1535 only for the benefit of any students, and this will only be between 01/07/24 and 17/07/24 as then it will be the school summer holidays. No other changes have been made to the timetable but there could be some delays.
The bus stops on Melton Road and Oakham Road will not be in use, and temporary bus stops will be in place on Stapleford Road. Information regarding the arrangements will also be available on RCC’s website www.rutland.gov.uk and on the bus.
